OLD JOHN (Dicwillynilly) £5.50 1998 A beautiful vibrant orange-red with an upright habit and light green glossy foliage, perfectly contrasting with the blooms. Named for friend and fellow rose expert John Mattock, whom we always affectionately refer to as "Old John". He's very happy with the rose, so you probably will be too!

SAFE HAVEN (Jacreraz) £5.50 2005 Imagine a much improved Lilli Marlene with slightly fuller blooms and a little taller habit……. that describes Safe Haven. Masses of mid-red double blooms are freely produced. Growth is strong with height around 80 cm and habit is bushy. Foliage is dense, mid-green and glossy.

SPICE OF LIFE (Diccheeky) £5.50 2004 A shaped blooms in clusters of 5 to 24. The buds develop from a reddish pink to an orange blend with almost scarlet edges in the mature flower, while the reverse of the petal is suffused with lemon yellow. Growth is strong, with the variety producing an exceptionally high percentage of first- quality plants. Habit is upright to bushy, and height is average at around 100 cm. Foliage is dense, with young red leaves which hold this colour well into maturity. Good disease resistance, with the foliage being retained much longer than many varieties. Spice Of Life is an excellent variety for budding on a Standard stem, and also makes a good containerised plant. We believe it is an outstanding variety which never failed to please over the years it has been on trial.

THE ATTENBOROUGH ROSE (Dicelope) £5.50 2004 A free-flowering Floribunda, with large delicate pink blooms tinged with green on the edge of the petals which have a porcelain appearance. The shapely pointed flowers are produced in clusters of 4 to 17 and have good lasting quality, ensuring there is always a fine display. Growth is vigorous, while habit is upright to bushy with some stems giving the plant an arching effect . A tallish variety with surprisingly few thorns, the blooms are complemented by mid-green glossy foliage. The Attenborough Rose was named for Lord Richard (and Lady Sheila) Attenborough by the British Film Institute in honour of his 80th birthday and was launched at Hampton Court in July 2004.

THREE CHEERS (Dicdomino) £5.50 2005 We like this variety not only for its colour - deep cerise pink in the bud stage paling attractively as it develops, with its deep yellow centre turning pale cream in the older flower - but also because it produces blooms so freely that at times the plant is just smothered in them! The cup-shaped double blooms have good lasting quality. Height is around 85 cm and habit is rounded, well-balanced and even. Foliage is dense, glossy and mid-green.

TOGETHER FOREVER (Dicecho) £5.95 2006 The buds and young blooms of this floribunda variety are orange with a yellow centre, gradually turning to pale peach / pink. The double blooms (23 petals) are approx. 10 cm diameter, cup shaped, and borne in clusters of 5 to 25. The plant's height is average, around 95 cm, and it has an upright to bushy habit. Foliage is dense, light to mid-green in colour and semi-glossy. This rose has been named by Mrs. Christine Royle of Leigh in Lancashire in memory of her late parents who enjoyed a long and happy marriage and also to celebrate her own marriage. Her mother died in August '04, the same month in which Mrs. Royle was married and she felt the timing was perfect to name a rose. We feel she has made an excellent choice in the name!

By buying a Treasured Memories rose you will have not only a living tribute to someone very special, but you will also be helping to support the valuable work of the Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke Association, as £5 from each rose sold will be donated to the charity.

WILD ROVER (Dichirap) £6.45 New for 2007! A wonderful colour of deep purple in the bud, opening to a lighter shade and fading to mauve in the old flowers. The blooms are semi-double having fourteen petals, and have a good scent. Foliage is dense, semi-glossy and light to mid-green. While we have classified this as a Floribunda - probably Flori-Shrub is a better description - this is a tall plant with climbing tendencies and could well be grown against a wall or fence, but don't expect it to achieve a great height, probably a maximum of just under two metres.
