NIGHT SKY (Dicetch)                                      £6.50

2004

A red sky at night usually bodes well for the next day, and we feel this Night Sky will not disappoint!  Eye-catching, with almost every bloom slightly different from its neighbour, the colour of this Floribunda is self-striped carmine red with an ivory/pale yellow centre, and the single blooms are produced in clusters of 5 to 19.  Despite having only six petals, lasting quality of the flowers is good, and the  moderately fragrant blooms are set-off by large, healthy foliage which is glossy and dark green with a hint of bronze.  Slightly taller than average, the plant has an upright to bushy habit, and is always in flower.

A wonderfully showy and  real attention grabbing rose!

NEW FOR 2010

It may only have five petals, but what a performer this rose is!  The bushes are literally smothered in dainty, delicate pale pink flowers, with tiny mid green glossy foliage.  Habit is manageable, so you may wish to classify “Maid of Honour” as a Shrublet.  It makes a superb container grown rose and also is fantastic as a half standard.   Its disease and weather resistance is truly terrific.  Also awarded a Trials Ground Certificate from the RNRS in 2009.
