TREASURED MEMORIES (Dicdanger)                          £10.00

Early in 2004 the Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke Association approached us to see if it was possible to have a rose named in connection with their charity.  Among approximately sixteen hundred seedling varieties which were being evaluated there was a red Floribunda which fitted all the criteria. As it was still in the early stages of development programme there were only twenty-four plants of this particular variety in existence.  However, during summer 2004 it was possible to propagate approximately two hundred.

The name, which we consider to be very apt,  was chosen after a competition was held on a Belfast radio station.

The rose is dark red with a bushy to spreading habit (height is approximately 70 cm and spread approximately 80 cm).  It produces masses of small semi-double blooms which are enhanced by dense, small, glossy foliage.

The cost is £10 which is split into rose cost £5 due to us and £5 donation to NICHSA.  By buying a Treasured Memories rose you will have not only a living tribute to someone very special, but you will also be helping to support the valuable work of the Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke Association.

CHARITY ROSES

PRECIOUS MEMORIES (Dichello£10.00

A very pretty peach / pink floribunda producing abundant cup—shaped blooms, 9 cm in diameter, in trusses of 5 - 25.

A full petalled variety, the peach buds open to a soft, mid pink showing their lemon centre and yellow stamens.  The vigorous plant is quite low-growing at around 80 cm with a bushy habit, the spread being similar to height.

\Foliage is dense, glossy and light to mid green in colour.  There is a beautiful contrast between the colour of the blooms and foliage. Fragrance is slight, but the rose has good disease resistance.

Precious Memories won a 2nd Class Certificate at The Hague International Rose Trials in 2006.

This rose was named by Carol Thomson in loving memory of her daughter Holly.  She set up the Holly Tree Foundation in her honour.  For more details please visit www.thehollytree.co.uk and for donations www.justgiving.com/hollyspage.

The cost is £10 which is split into rose cost £5 due to us and £5 donation to the Foundation.

GEORGE BEST (Dichimanher)     £10.00

Named in honour of the late, great footballer this is, quite naturally, red in colour for Manchester United FC. Borne in clusters of eight to twenty, the deep red buds gradually lighten in shade to finish as a pinkish red. The small to medium size blooms are very abundant. It is a low growing and bushy plant with dense small, mid- to dark green glossy foliage. Can be planted in large tubs as well as in the ground.

We are happy to name a rose for our much admired fellow countryman and a donation of £5 from every plant sold will be made to the George Best Foundation http://www.georgebest.com.
